Availability tool for swiss-award-bookingclasses ?

Where i can search the availability of award-bookingclasses for SWISS-flights ? By the way, which class is for upgrade Y-C (U?) ?

my problem:
if i go to the stc-website, there comes only the "CA" .. but i don´t know, if there ony 1 oder more free seats

I would like to book 2 upgrades (second for my wife) online and then comes the fear, that i get the first upgrade, but not the second

I believe U is the booking class for awards. (Still) the same as on all oneworld airlines.

You can search on expertflyer.com (but paid service) or KVNs availibility tool (see mileage run forums and do a search).

PM your flight info and I can search expertflyer for you.

As an STC member, you can sign in and start making an online award booking for any number of seats. This always works, even if you don’t have enough miles. No actual booking will take place unless you enter passenger names and a credit card number. So you can repeat this procedure as often as you want for different flights / different number of seats.

Hi Jotxl

Ya know, the easiest method would be to simply call one of us lovely customer sales reps & ask

SWISSmiss if I had your direct line - that would be an option to phone and ask more in person ! :/) But usually it's allways easier to use online tools and get info fast within a few seconds rather than calling (even paying for the call) and then listening to the tape and push 1 and then sorry we have a heavy call load but you can choose to speak to an english speaking rep etc etc etc - löl -

@jotxl: Why don't you follow yak's advice? This works.

I have no experience with "expertflyer", but it seems like it comes to a point when it should show all classes, because U is really the class you need for an upgrade or free ticket in business.
(It also doesn't seem to show Z, which is what you'd need for First award/upgarde.)

if i sign in at STC i can go to booking. Then i can make a online booking for a biz-award flight. Correct. But the bookingmachine says, i have not enough miles for the award. And this is only a full award flight, not an upgrade.

and if i go to the link upgrade, the bookingmachine shows me first my online booked flights. But i don´t have yet an actual booking for the wished flights.

Thats my prob :-)

@jotxl: I don't think that there's a problem.
Award and upgrade use the same booking class. That means if you go via the award booking screen, select the number of passengers and you get an availability in business, there are seats for the upgrade as well.
You can even increase the number of passengers to find out how many award/upgrade seats are available.

i have tried expertflyer with booking class "U". No results for swiss-longhaul to jnb. An answer from expertflyer-support: no award classes for swiss !

i remember, that also my travelagency (specialised for flights !!) can´t find the "U" class. It is hidden !

the only possibility is yak´s advise with the award-bokking tool of stc-website !

btw, swiss is currently in the progress to adopt LH booking classes... this means in the near future booking class for swiss award tickets will be the same booking class as for LH. (e.g. from sept 2 swiss booking class R will become T, U will become R, S -> U, W -> E, G -> S, K -> G and O-> W for europe, K for interncontinental)

Hi CHris,
do you know if this has happened already?
If yes, could you please list the new award classes for F/C/Y?

Thank you!

LH's award classes for FCY are O,I,X. But these are also hidden by LH from general access in principle, so don't get your hopes up.
