Miles and More & SWISS Travel Club
I have 50000 miles ready to expire in August 2005. I am not a frequent SWISS flyer hence this post.
What are the chances I will actually lose these miles in August if I do not redeem them?
When can we redeem on LH? (I ask as LH serves Khartoum)
Are there any hotel programmes I can transfer to?

While nobody knows for sure, I'd consider it highly unlikely that a redeption on Lufthansa will be possible before August 2005. Better use your miles or they'll be gone by the end of August.

I am not aware of any transfer possibility to a hotel program.
I don't expect any transfer-option (to LH miles&more) nor that you could use Travelclub miles on LH (or other Star-carriers) before the winter-timetable 2005/2006 (october 2005).
You better start using your miles before expiration in August 2005 (can be done for flights up to 12 months later), not only on swiss, but on many oneworld-partners too (like Qantas, etc).

Yes, you don't have to actually fly before August, as once issued, the ticket is valid for 12 months, and rebookable against a fee. The routing, however, cannot be changed.
