Long time AA flyer and first time Swiss Airlines flyer, here. My family and I are booked in PE from Zurich to Dubai in December (part of a United itinerary DFW-ORD-ZUR-DXB) and it would really calm my anxiety if I am able to reserve our seats now. The booking says will be assigned by Swiss, but went to choose them as there are four of us, even if it costs extra to choose in advance. Is there a way to do that? Thank you and I look forward to experiencing this relatively new product on Swiss.

edit - so I understand that I need to call United to get my Swiss booking code and then I can choose them. Is that correct? I am normally able to find the codeshare metal airline booking code but it seems that I have to call United to get that?

United needs to step up its outsourced call center. After over 90 minutes on hold (that actually isn�t the problem), the agent gave me the Swiss booking code and gave me seven digits. I asked them three times whether it should be six digits and they said it�s right there, it�s seven digits and they read it back to me three times. I wrote it down correctly and of course it doesn�t work. Gonna waste another two hours for an annoying game of hang up and call again to get the operating carrier booking code which should be much easier to get
