As the press release says, the new policy is valid for all new bookings, i.e. bookings on/after August 25.

No it also applies to older bookings, the wording of the press release is unfortunate.

And in that case the coverage in the Swiss press, too...

I also have had it confirmed by the Social Media Team that this applies to old bookings too.

Hi all - I wonder if anyone has a view on the following:

I have a P booking GRU-ZRH / ZRH-GRU, where the second flight was just cancelled and I was rebooked to a new flight which doesn't work for my schedule anymore. At this point, I'd like to reschedule the whole trip, anticipating by a few days also the first flight to ZRH, which is scheduled normally. Problem is, there is no more P availability on that flight as it is in a few days, despite Experflyer map showing lots of space (<20% occupancy). Is it worth insisting to be rebooked also on the flight to ZRH without fare difference, despite that flight not being cancelled (but only the flight back being cancelled)? Tks!

You can try to call LX and ask for the complete change, but in theory you have to talk to expedia about the cancelled segment only. The change for free policy doesn't allow for booking class changes.

in february we booked a discounted partner ticket ZRH - MIA in F for beginning of november, booking class A. it seems that our outbound flight (09.50 am) is not available anymore but still our booking remains confirmed. swiss write that additional costs may occur in case the booking class of the new flight is different. if we rebook to let's say march 2021, the booking class would still be A and therefore no additional costs should occur. anyone made experiences with rebooking such a discounted ticket ?

If you can find A in the flights you want the change should be free provived the min/max stay and advance purchase conditions are met.

yes, "should" be free of charge since there are flights in march in A but at approx. double the price.

Swiss still up to their old tricks - I am trying to rebook a short-haul flight and despite the same booking class being available, they are asking for 600 chf fare difference.
