Status benefits when flying Edelweiss (WK) under LX flight number
I might be flying ZRH-TPA-ZRH, operated by Edelweis, but my ticket is with Swiss flightnumber, LX 8004/8005. I have HON status.
My question is whether this will be like any other LX flight in terms of status benefits:
My question is whether this will be like any other LX flight in terms of status benefits:
- Use of FCL in Zurich
- Limo transfer from Terminal A to E in Zurich
- Access to preferred seats for free
- Booking guarantee when booking into J class
- Escort service for immigration/security in TPA

I can only help on the booking guarantee. It’s a no. However, the HON service will waitlist it for you and the couple of times I’ve done it, it’s cleared within 24 hours.

Can only give a hint concerning lounge use: could use SEN lounge in ZRH instead of C lounge when flying C on WK, so would assume by analogy that you can also use FCL. Don‘t expect the WK hotline to be able to tell you, however, as they were always completely useless when I called them.

Lounge access is a yes as status is honored (Sen and *G can access Sen lounge, FTL can acess BUS lounge) I have not yet reached HON or flown with one on EDW to confirm access to the FCL but I am very sure it is possible and comes with all the perks like limo tranfer etc.
All Business Seats are available to anybody, there are no preffered seats (you need to reserve them on the Edelweiss website though which can be a little confusing because you only need name and flight number to make it andit lookslikea new booking with cost 0 (but it works). So be quick as the Throne seats are gone fast.
Booking guarantee? No idea.
Outstation service is most probably the sameas for every other EDW J pax. Unless Edw pays for it, most probably not. As far as I knkw Edw does not offer that service at any airport in the world. And most times Edw has different check-in counters than LH/LX or other star alliance carriers at outstations so no luck getting the service like that.
Lounge access is also not sure and unless Edelweiss pays a contract lounge or there is a Star alliance branded non contract lounge that allows entry to *A status pax on *A flights, there is none. Contract lounge of other *A carriers only allow pax in that or on those airlines flights. Last time checked there was no lounge in TPA. (Fun side note: In Rak one does get Lounge access with Edw, but not with Lx!)
Finally my years of experience on flying EDW help somebody on FT.

WK op by LX- status benefits
When WK coded flights are operated by LX, does that get status bennies for SEN and Gold?
WK311 EDI-ZRH is operated by LX number of days for WK. So its just like a normal wet lease, its still a WK flight?

Does this give me *A Gold benefits especially lounge at Mykonos? Thanks

The Star Alliance Lounge Finder lists no *A lounge for JMK, so you may not get anything regardless of status and airline (metal) flown.

There is no lounge at JMK full stop.. in fact, it’s probably the most disgusting, poorly run, over-crowded, chaotic airport I’ve ever been to. If you’re lucky you’ll even get a feral cat going to the loo at your feet inside the “sterile area”..!

It's about the same as any other airport on the smaller islands. They were not built for the traffic they see today and often because of terrain there is no where to extend them too. The best island these days are the ones with a runway that's too short for an A320 with either no airport at all or one that sees a couple of Olympic Dash 8s a day.
