Display new messages only?

Display new messages only?
Hi,
Would it be possible to add a facility to display messages beginning with new ones posted since I last visited the forum?
Other webboards have this where, with an extra icon by each subject, you can jump directly to the newest messages posted under that topic. If there aren't any new messages in that topic then the icon isn't displayed.
I haven't found this suggested previously, but I thought it would be a useful enhancement.
(If it is possible to do tihs already, then could someone tell me how to switch it on?!)
