how do i save forum threads/links for future use?

good day,

i am sure this is probably a pretty basic question to y'all, but i am still somewhat new re: how to use everything here.

here is my question/situation. i frequently see responses like "please go see [url that redirects you to a prior thread]". how can i generate those and save them for future use?

for example today there are some postings in different forums that i know i will want to refer to in a year or so. how can i save the url where these items are so that i do not have to go slogging through the search engine next year hoping to find what i am looking for?

thanks (right now it is about 1:40 a.m. here; i have been fighting this computer all day and night and i am tired. i hope this post is understandable.

thanks....cti1wlm

Here is a link that shows you how to create those links to other threads or sites.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ubbcode.html

As for saving certain threads to look at later, just bookmark them. Then rename them so you will know what it is about.
Hope this helps.

Before you bookmark them, make sure that you have that particular thread open in new window (in Netscape, click on the right mouse button, then select "open in new window"). Otherwise, since Flyertalk uses frames, the only bookmark you'll save would be the front page.

good day,

thanks. spot on.

i am using microsoft ie 5.5 as my browser (yes, i know i have your sympathy). and right-clicking the title for the thread allows one to open it in a new window (just as you said netscape does, eugene). then, as henwood suggested, i simply bookmarked the new window.

thanks, and remember, growing old means never having to say: "i'll remember that. you can count on me."
