Multi page threads - order of display
Some threads are becoming quite long, and require multiple pages. I think the longest one I have seen was 9 pages long.
I suspect that most people are like me. They check FT regularly, and when they see a new thread that interests them, they begin to follow it. But once it become longer that 1 page, you still see the first page when you click on the thread title. By this time, the first page is usually "old news," and what most of us are interested in the "new news."
That being the case, what's the likelyhood of being able to display the last page first? This would let us get right to the new stuff quickly.
(There is a problem with this suggestion, however. That is, if the thread has recently spanned a page break, then going to the last page might result in someone missing a post or two, on the second to last page. BUT, if you were able to make the last page always a "full page" and the first "old news" page the partial page, the problem should be minimized.)
Thanks,
Ken Hamer

I posted a thread on "Technical ..." with quite the same content.
There should be at least a possibilty to change from "most recent" posts first or "oldest posts" first.

I agree with the concept. Could the software put a "last page" link as part of the listing of a multi-page threads? That way you could get the first page as default, or the last page if you want it. If you open the last page and see that it started an hour ago, so you may have missed something, there's always a link to the next-to-last page right there.

Beckles has suggested previously that all threads should run newest post at the top and I could be persuaded to agree with him. If search is working again, we have discussed this topic at least once and it may be worth your while hunting for it.
