Rates in LV vary a lot from weekend to weekend - so no good answer there for you.

I've only stayed at LV Hilton once (as HH Gold) and PH once (as SPG Plat).

No free breakfast at PH - and Gym/Spa access is "in the process" for SPG Plat.

I got an unrenovated room at LV Hilton (so that was pretty bad) - renovated room at PH (quite nice).

I'd say location of PH is better since you can actually walk to many of the other hotel/casinos.

No free breakfast but the PH is a much nicer hotel and great strip location.

With top tiers in both programs my advice is take PH over Hilton unless the rate difference gets too substantial (I would pay up to $50/day extra for PH).

The only think that I don't like about the PH are the hookers. I came from the gay bar and went to have a drink at the hotel bar around 5AM.

All the "ladies" at the bar were for sale. I was able to get them off very fast when I told that I don't have my boyfriend with me.......

I stayed at the Hilton many times but the messages I am reading about the new PH dont seem that +ve. Never stayed at the PH before.
Are there any packages or deals worth knowing please.

What should be the rates to pay for 3 nights week end?
What about breakfast and Gym/Spa, will that be included like at HH?
I had a decent experience on my first time in HH, what should and be aware of.. At the moment I more inclined to going back to LV HH, can anyone convince me otherwise??
All feedback and help welcome in comparing the 2 hotels!!@:-) remember I am European!!!
PH is a much newer hotel that is right on the strip. It is also somewhat centrally located so you are within walking distance of any other resort on the strip.

You will not get free breakfast, but you will quite likely get an upgraded room on a high floor, possibly with a good view of the strip.

You also have a lot of shops in the Desert Passage mall area. I frequently hit the ABC store for snacks. This is the same ABC store that is based in Hawaii and they have some of the same merchandise. Regardless it helps with my Hawaii withdrawals until I can return.

PH isn't perfect, but it's a nice place to stay.

Overall the rates are coming down in Las Vegas however it will depend on convention/fight/event schedule so it's hard to generalize.

I had two weekend stays this year at appr $100/nt. In both cases the rates dropped significantly 3-5 days ahead of the arrival (from $250+ to $100) - so my suggestion is to have a cancellable but acceptable backup and monitor spg.com

PH Vegas is featured in the movie 21

It's one of the main casinos featured along with Hard Rock and a couple others.

Its one of the clues that the movie takes place in present day (e.g., 2006 - 2008).

My wife wants to stay somewhere different on our next trip to Vegas so I was checking the PH rates yesterday on their site (not through SPG). They have an AAA rate of $89 per night through the end of 2008. I am assuming that you would still get SPG benefits under this rate and earn points but I am in the process of checking that out now. $89 a night is a pretty good great rate compared to what we usually spend.

I got upgraded to a "resort room", which was decent. I really wanted a strip suite, but oh well.

In terms of the nightlife, I went to "Privee", which is the PH nightclub. It's really not that great, but it's convenient. Also, ask the concierge for passes for free admission before 11:00.

One major flaw is the pool area, which is just pathetic, when it comes to Vegas standards. It's basically open space of concrete, and a basic pool. I really hope they upgrade the pool.

In general, it's an OK hotel, but it's not in the same league as The Hotel, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio....
I understand why revenue is used to set categories, but when you can get a room midweek for $127, why would anyone ever use Starpoints? Maybe a weekend/weekday category difference would be appropriae for a select subset of hotels?

I have a conference at the Paris in December and already booked my room here for $127/night Sunday through Thursday and I'll certainly be PLT by then. Add Saturday and the rate per night jumps to $200, so I'll come in a day later. No biggy.
