There is not much need to make an early announcement if most hotels are going from a higher to a lower category. This is the exact opposite situation as last year. The only reason to rush and book is if you think the hotel will move up a category. Given the state of the economy and financial system, it does not look like the next year will be record setting as far as hotel REVPAR goes.
