Two Questions

To make sure I understand the T & Cs...

1) For eligible nights, do the nights count on the date of arrival (which stays do) or on the actual night? I have a trip that starts September 30 and goes through October 3rd, so will 10/1 and 10/2 be considered eligible nights for You Choose?

2) To confirm, we can wait and see how our travel schedule looks up until 11/15, with stays/nights retroactively counting towards whichever promo we choose, correct?

A lot of excitement about nothing for me. Already have Platinum status for next year and the low level of points per night/stay does not encourage me to spend any extra money. Given the tanking economy, I will wait and do my stays in the first quarter of next year.

Lurker,

Can you clarify on the free night option? If we earned the maximum of 2 free nights, could we use 2 free nights during the same stay? Or, do they have to be used separately?

This is starting to sound like SPG flights.

Only the eligible nights in October are going to count if you choose the nights method. Eligible stays would have to begin on October 1st if you choose the stays method.

Yes, everything but Stays/Nights Count Double is retroactive as long as you register during the active registration period. Stays/Nights Count Double does not take effect until you register.

They can be used back to back or used separately, if you wish.

It's fun to follow "% of members choosing" bar at the bottom.

This is a Q4 promotion...when did you THINK it started? All the information from SPG was that you would have 15 days from the announcement to choose...leading to...you guessed it...OCTOBER 1ST!
AMAZING!!!

Lurker,

For the double starpoints, is that a doubling of the basic starpoints for a night (i.e., $100 room rate = 200 points) or a doubling of the collective points inclusive of elite bonus?

Double Starpoints is going to be figured on the base points earned, not on the elite bonus point.

Well, they usually run into Jan of the following year, don't they? Also, I guess I assumed that the stays from 9/17-30 would qualify as well, since I have a couple of nights booked.
