Exactly. Enough people opt-out, if they're doing their e-marketing measurement homework, they'll realize they're overmailing.
It's a common mistake among some e-marketers to realize that permission to e-mail doesn't mean you can't irritate someone. There are several firms I otherwise like to do business with (ProFlowers, Costco.com) that e-mail once or more a week and I've opted out.
Specials should appear to be "special" and not common. Planet Hollywood marketers haven't figured that one out yet.

And that means, exactly? Not clear when you quote someone entirely and then just respond with a Smilie labelled as "sarcastic."
PH needs to stop emailing so often, in my mind. (And perhaps stop having emails look like they're designed by someone who's never been outside of the neon-and-hype shouting of Las Vegas, but that's another issue.)
