Double Bonus for conversions to Delta Skymiles?
I converted 40,000 SPG points to Delta Skymiles this week.
I immediately got an e-mail receipt from SPG listing the remdeption as:
"40,000 SPG points converted to 40,000 Skymiles at a 1:1 ratio.
10,000 bonus Skymiles
Allow a week (approx) for the conversion to show up in my Delta Skymiles account."
Two days later, I get this in my Skymiles account under "activity"
"50,000 Starwood bonus Skymiles
10,000 Starwood bonus Skymiles"
Nice use of Starwood points, 40,000 Starwood yields 60,000 Skymiles. I like that.
One has to convert at least 20,000 Starwood points to get the bonus, which is 5,000 miles. When converted to Marriott points, the same bonus conversion ratio holds -- 60,000 Marriott points + 15,000 bonus. No devaluation on the advertised bonus, but who knows insofar as the unadvertised bonus?

Likely a Marriott/SPG IT system error, as it's undergoing massive changes.
