Also, as you mentioned, for unused travel package certificates, points will be credited back to the account after Aug 1st. How much points are we talking about here? For example, it cost me 390000 Marriott pt for cat 8 travel package #1 (with 120000 aeroplan). So will I get 270000 Marriott pt back into my account on Aug 1st when the cat 9 SEVEN night travel certificate is unused before Aug 1st?
Please help!

Maybe I have missed it but I haven't seen any posts about the merger giving us Marriott folks the services of Starwood Lurker. Have always been envious of the Starwood folks and the fact that they have William as an asset - Marriott has had a revolving door cast of FT reps but none could hold a candle to William. In my mind this is a true enhancement of the combined program.

I am getting very frustrated on the UNKNOWNS about Marriott Travel packages. I have a stay at Ritz Kyoto end of March 2019 and I have redeemed tier 5 travel package and attached to my reservation. Now, it looks like Ritz Kyoto will cost me only 60000pt if I book on Aug 1st instead of 70000pt per night. So basically I am losing out 60000 Marriott pt for my 1 week reservation?

Yes, the highest cat for Aug 1 and on will only be 60000 until Jan 1 2019. So that means I paid 10000 extra PER night.

So this one should be easy. Your current cert is attached to your current reservation in March I am assuming? With MR when a point cost drops after booking but before the stay you call in and have the cert exchanged for the lower cost cert with the surplus points being deposited back into the account. Even though this is a TP cert it stll should work this way in the future.

I meant I do understand you want clarification and I feel Marriott is doing a poor job with it by releasing information like squeezing toothpaste, but if you are thinking these are equivalent amount and you are entitled a full 270,000 marriott points of refund, then I think you must be daydreaming.

Do you really think 120,000 aeroplan points is equivalent to 120,000 marriott reward points?

Any idea or thoughts on where SPG Hawaii properties might line up? Need stay in Waikiki but rather stay at SPG than Courtyard.

However, I would bet that the SPG properties (except perhaps the Princess) will be a higher category than the Courtyard. Does that help?

With only two weeks to go, I have to say I'm surprised more information hasn't leaked.

I haven't found anything about current award reservations anywhere. If I have a SW hotel booked for post August 1 using SPG points, do I get to keep that reservation as is?
