Wedding planning and SPG Pro

Currently I am a SPG Gold Preferred Guest Pro

I am starting to plan a wedding at a SPG hotel. Currently there is a Promo for "...one Starpoint for every $1 of contracted food and beverage and room rental fees, maximum 100,000 Starpoints."

Can I still earn my usual 1 Starpoint for every $2 spent on event expenses? Should I book 3 rooms under my name and then the rest under the wedding event?
Thanks I'm trying to get the best bang for my buck, because its a lot of $$$

If your negotiations with the hotel allow it, you might be able to book three rooms outside the event, but they would have to be booked at a rate that is eligible for stay/night credit and satisfy the normal T&C requirements for multiple rooms to be credited to your account.

We also did a smaller dinner one evening and instead of adding that into the event/catering piece, I just made a private room reservation through the hotel restaurant and charged it to one of my rooms so I could get the extra points at least for that dinner.
