SPG DOUBLE TAKE PROMOTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Registration: Starwood Preferred Guest® Members must register online at spg.com/doubletake by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), March 15, 2017. Registered members can earn bonus Starpoints® on eligible stays between January 16, 2017, and April 15, 2017 (the "Promotion Period"), at hotels and resorts in the SPG® program.
Earning: Registered members will earn double Starpoints at participating hotels and resorts on eligible stays of one or more nights for their first three stays within the earning period. Members who earn double Starpoints will earn an additional two (2) Starpoints per eligible US$1 spent (for a total of four [4] Starpoints per dollar). Elite-level extra Starpoints earnings and other bonuses will not be doubled. Only the base two-Starpoints-per-dollar earnings are doubled. After the third stay, registered members may be eligible to earn five thousand (5,000) bonus Starpoints after ten (10) nights, plus an additional five hundred (500) bonus Starpoints per additional night up to five thousand (5,000) Starpoints for a total of ten thousand (10,000) bonus Starpoints or twenty (20) nights. Offer is eligible with other Starpoints promotions; however, each offer will award bonus Starpoints independently of each other, and offers are not combinable.
Bonusing: The bonus Starpoints will post to the registered member's account within 2 to 4 weeks after the qualifying stay posts.
Eligible stays and nights: An eligible stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights paying an eligible rate in the same hotel, regardless of the number of check-ins or checkouts that occur, and posting to the member’s Starwood Preferred Guest account. An eligible night is defined as at least one night paying an eligible rate in the Promotion Period. An eligible rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest program. Yep. The word "starting" is kinda important here and omitting it from the Tweet changes things somewhat. 
Maybe the next promo should be designed so the terms are simple enough to be fitted into 140 characters.

sorry I forgot to mention this is after the first 3 stays, then another 10 nights to get extra 5000 points. While I'm giving up the second set of 10 nights with 500 points each, as I definitely won't be traveling that often till deadline in April, I'll be around 2-3 nights short to achieve the first 10 nights. I'm planing to do this in KUL where hotels there are relatively cheap but I can't make it a mattress run as I need to fly back to SIN. So during my appointment in KUL I'll stay one night, then fly to SIN without check out, back to KUL again 3 days later for my weekend night then check out next day.
yes you can. Just inform the hotel you're going out of KUL for a few days but you're keeping your room. so that they don't call you up to ask if you're still in-house.
Leave some clothing there if it makes you feel more comfortable. Pick it up on the last day.
Prepaying will make the hotel less edgy too
Are you sure it's worth it for 5000 points? 300MYR/night, 100MYR to get to and from Sentral by train, and then add the airfare x2 ... 5000 starpoints is USD175 if you buy them.
How many nights more do you need? 5? Do you really need the nights to achieve status? Or will you have enough in the rest of the year to do that? Don't forget whatever status you achieve this year may not have the same benefits in 2018 when the programmes will possibly merge...

Just wondering what other members' experiences have been with regards to the double bonus points posting.
For my first set of bonus points, the points posted the day after the stay points posted (48 hours after check out). For the second and third stays, its been well over that timeframe now and while the stay points have posted, the bonus points have yet to appear. I'm still well within the 2-4 week timeframe for points to post so not really that concerned but wondering if other members are seeing the same delay.

3 x stays (3 rooms) completed 23 Jan. Room points as per usual. Bonus points still pending. Dashboard shows 3 stays, zero points.

Just checked and the wrong stay received the bonus points. What should have been my 4th stay during the promo period received the bonus points but the second stay did not. I've asked SPG to have a look but since I paid a regular rate, I'm pretty sure the second stay qualified.
Moral of the story: keep an eye on this promo to ensure the bonus points are correctly posted.

+1. Colleagues account has had the DT7 bonus applied to stays 1, 3 and 4. The tracker is behind, so there is no indication yet whether the system has started counting the additional nights after the '3rd stay'.

If I book a couple of consecutive reservations in the same hotel,
is it gonna be seen as one stay or separate stays?
I would prefer to combine them into one stay for this promo,
but as they originally show separate in my account, it's probably a lost case...
