How do you check to see what has been added? Design Hotels have 2 properties in Georgia (the country). One has been added. The other has not. I'd love to see it added in the next 9 months.

I basically refresh the directory of all hotels by page, accessible from the SPG home page. I keep track of the number of properties (now 82) and if any difference, I check the property added on that date.

I am a big fan for the Design portfolio and just wish many more could be added quickly, selfishly in Asia.

I really appreciate you doing this and hope you continue to do so. I've just discovered the Design Hotel in Rome and am very excited about it. With your help, I'll stay more aware of potential interesting destinations.

Just be aware that the availability will vary greatly between the SPG site, design hotels site and the hotel own site.

In some research I'm doing for an upcoming vacation the hotels sites show most availability (and can be booked well more than a year in advance). Most of the times the SPG site shows more availability than the design hotels site.

As I am looking well into the future, I've not looked at closer stay dates that might equalize the available rooms.

Don't worry, William has been faithfully updating us, I am just trigger happy. William would let us know if I were to miss one.

It's worthwhile looking at spg.com and designhotels.com before booking. Getting a BRG approved isn't that rare with Design Hotels, even more when they are showing as sold out on spg.com

Another 5 Properties online - July 20th

La Maison Champs Elysees, Paris, A Member Of Design Hotels™ - Paris France

Azor Hotel, Ponta Delgada, A Member Of Design Hotels™ - Ponta Delgada - Portugal

Also no coverage in Norway or Denmark.

And Germany, where the SPG-presence is severely lacking outside of Munich and Frankfurt...and there are quite a few Design properties that could mitigate that.

Greetings - Dirk

Atlantis is back at starwood.^

Norway or Denmark only have 1 property each, so probably a matter of convincing the owners to join.

I'd say Germany is the surprising market - lots of Design Hotels (24) yet only 1 in SPG. All the more surprising if you compare with Austria or Switzerland where many properties have now joined SPG.

There's still a lot of work to be done to get the remaining properties online.

I am also surprised that none of these hotels (execpt the one in Bavaria) joined SPG yet...

@Lurkers: Can we expect a change there?

Hi Andie007,

We do not have any information to share. If there are new hotels participating in the SPG Program, we will let you know.

87 out of 276 (32 new) - impressive

not all owners will want to pay the costs

perhaps starwood could look at what accor is doing with their nonfranchise partner hotels
