Any starwood gold referals available?

I am booking a honeymoon trip for my mother-in-law for 9/9-9/17 and she is staying at sheraton. I would like to get her gold so she can get the upgrade. Any codes available?

Thanks for the help ahead of time.

QUEENHCB,
You don't have your email in your profile or I could email you a gold referral. Send me an email if you still need one, and I'll send you the info back.

I'm new to FT. I did not realize Gold could be gotten by referral. I will be staying at the Sheraton towers in N.Y. in November for a meeting and probably another meeting in December. Does anybody have a Gold referral available?

Hopefully, this meeting stay will be paid by you and not put on a Master Bill to your company. That way you stand a chance of getting the bonus points as well.

It is a common misconception that Starwood Golds will get an upgrade. This is not a SPG gold benefit and you may be disappointed. Most Four Points will put you on a club floor but most Sheratons will point you at a "nice" room. YOu stand an equal chance of getting the same room with no status if you are nice at check-in.

SPG Gold is not worth much.

Excuse my ignorance, I'm new to this board.

Can anyone tell me what this gold referral is in more detail? Thanks.

Welcome to Flyertalk, amoeba!

If you are not an SPG member, just e-mail one of the members who posted that they had special invitation cards to give (including myself), and we'll forward you all the information needed for you to call SPG and obtain an instant Gold SPG membership. If you stay 5 times before October 31, both you and I would receive additional 5,000 point bonus.

What SPG level are you that you are able to get & give out special invitation cards to invite people to SPG Gold?

I am SPG Gold - If only SPG would send me some of the invitation cards, I could surely get several people to join. What do I have to do in order to get some of those. Is it only a Platinum perk?

I'm Platinum. A bit more than a month ago I received a letter from SPG with several Gold referral cards.

Currently I am a gold member with 6 stays to date, so I suppose I may not be able to reap any rewards this way. May have to do a hotel run just to keep my gold status.

I do know of friends that are interested in joining *wood. Would there be any benefit to either of you if he doesn't make any stay before oct31? Or is it just considered to be a free gold membership for him? Thanks.
