Effective December 17, 2017 the SPG partnership with Uber will come to an end.
Members who have met all of the requirements to earn Starpoints in accordance with the SPG-Uber benefits program, including, without limitation, having a Stay posted to their SPG Member account for the current calendar year will continue to earn Starpoints on Uber rides up until 11:59PM on December 17, 2017.
If the stay overlaps with the program end date, you will still earn 2 starpoints per USD 1 spent on Uber rides taken during your stay. Any rides taken after 11:59 on December 17, 2017 even if taken during a stay that originated on or before December 17, 2014 will not earn starpoints on that uber ride.

Why did I recently have a delay in my Starpoints posting for my Uber rides?
An issue was identified affecting Uber rides over the last month that delayed the posting of points to member accounts. We have since fixed this issue and members should receive all ride credits within the stated 2-4 week period.

Uber Partnership Update
With your SPG and Uber accounts linked and you have met a requirement of ONE qualifying stay in the current calendar year, SPG members will earn 1 point per dollar spent with Uber on every day rides. For rides during stays, SPG members will earn 2 points per dollar spent on Uber (Preferred), 3 points per (Gold or Platinum), or 4 points per (Plat75).
There is a maximum of $10,000 in points-earning spend with Uber per calendar year. This means that you could have up to 40,000 SPG points with this promotion (if you were a Plat75 and only used Uber while on SPG stays and maxed out $10,000 in Uber services).

The January reference is definitely the grace period.
As commented above it seems points are posting via a sweep as I've had points for 21/11 and 23/11 post together this morning.

I can confirm that, I get uber point from 2015. Suddently stopped in early 2016 until my first SPG stay during this year.

Earning SPG points for Uber rides
I understand that you have to have a qualifying stay to earn SPG points on Uber rides. How does it work for your first SPG stay? As in, if I'm at an SPG property for two weeks and take a handful of Ubers, will I still earn the 3-4 points/$?
Also, I have P100 (Ambassador) status till Feb 2018, so does that mean I will earn the 4 points/$ during my stay (as opposed to 2 or 3)?

In my experience once your Uber and SPG accounts are linked you earn points on ALL Uber rides, but double during stays. I thought this was standard across most geographies?

If you are P100, then you have obviously already had a qualifying stay. If you were a brand new member that just signed up to get points for Uber rides, you would need to have a qualified stay post before you could start earning points for Uber rides.
You will get the 4 points per dollar in combination with a Starwood stay.

To horizontal, it's effectively double during your stay if you're Preferred but the easiest way to understand it is that you're earning the same points as the base points for whatever tier you're on.
i.e.
Preferred = 2 pts during stay
Gold/Plat 50 = 3 pts
Plat 75 = 4 pts

I earned P100 midway through October 2016, and according to SPG, it lasts till end of Feb 2018. That said, I know the Uber stay requirement is based on calendar year, and I currently haven't stayed at an SPG property yet (it is day one of 2017, after all haha). My first stay will be on Jan 10, so..
A) Ubers I take from now - Jan 10 will earn me 0 SPG points ... AND
B) Ubers I take from Jan 10 onwards will earn me SPG points, either the base 1 pt/$ or the 4 pt/$ (when occurring during an SPG stay).
Does this add up?
