I would like to compliment SPG on how smoothly this promotion went when comparing to others.

You should get an extra 2760 as you earn triple points with the Sat night stay

Actually, you got more base points than you were entitled to (you're not supposed to get points for taxes), and the calculations are a bit off (1395 is not 50% of 2760). I assume your extra points for the weekend stay should post shortly.

Thanks both.

Very underwhelmed by the amount of points compared to what I might achieve on a 6 night stay in asia with Carlson when a promo is on

At least I can transfer to BA direct.

Well, the earn/burn rate is different for all loyalty programs.

I do agree that earning SPG points is difficult. It's especially true for us in Asia that have no access to a SPG Amex card (besides Japan).

I appreciate that each FF programme is different but it seems really challenging to earn enough points for a stay over a few nights.

I guess this is why we have choice in who we stay with.

In other news, still communicating with SPG regarding triple points bonus

Question What is the 2 stay 5 night credit SPG?

I have the SPG Amex USA, still wondering what the 2 stays/5 nights credit means for elite status. Do I get free 2 stays / 5 nights? (for having the card)

What is elite status in this case? Is it gold or Plat? Please help. Thanks in advance.

You receive credit for 2 stays and 5 nights towards elite status. Elite status is either Gold or Platinum. You do not get free nights.

In other words, you have a head-start on achieving elite status without shelling out the bucks or actually spending a night in a Starwood property.

Simple terms: you get credit for 2 days and 5 nights without actually staying there.

Example: 25 nights to reach GO status, you only need to actually stay 20 nights now because you already have 5 nights credited.

You mean 2 stays, not 2 days.
