Re-qualified yesterday: 19 stays, 50 nights

*I was surprised how quick they updated my account with my SNA's. Within 18 hours of checking out, my account was updated.

Got a requal promo.... 2x points for a month (sept, oct, nov) OR 35% off an award redemption.
Used the requal promo for my Honeymoon at Westin NYC. Maximum benefit...35% off a 5th night free booking = 48% off CAT 6
Wedding stays helped my clear Plat 75.
Honeymoon stay pushes to 80.
SNA still useless at 17

I screwed up last year and ended up with 21 stays at the end of 2012 and dropped to Gold for the start of this year.

I cleared back to Platinum on my 25th stay back on 24 August after staying at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. This actually represents the fastest clear to Platinum that I've had.

Just got my 25th stay...

Nearly made it to 75 nights last year, but this year (unless something changes) I will be 10 or so nights short of 50. Unfortunate because my wife has enjoyed the Suite Nights.

Long time lurker, 1st time poster

Hit 50 nights back in June. Just checked out of Sheraton Singapore earlier today, possibly my last hotel stay this year, bumping it up to 64 nights so far. Had just over 50 nights last year, still haven't been able to redeem any of my SNAs as my stays usually last 5-6 nights - all 10 of 'em will probably die on NYE.

Just completed my 25th stay with 35 nights after checking out this past Sunday.
I will have 45 nights by the end of the year. I won't get out of my way to reach 50 nights.

I don't understand why people shift. I get that after 100 nights, there is no extra level - but unless you are also the top tier at IHG, you forfeit all your Platinum perks by staying at an alternate chain. I have 77 nights so far. I could shift chains - but I'm base level at them. I suppose I could status match and then go get it - but I don't see the point. Just staying at *wood gives me all the perks I worked so hard to attain.

Why do you change chains?

I'm running after Plat this year... *pants...

I'm at 19 stays and 32 nights with only 2 stays upcoming (4 nights). Checking Hot Escapes every Wednesday now to see what to do haha.
Sucks that Singapore only has expensive properties... no ALofts or 4P. The Sheraton sometimes offers good deals under S$200 though. Tempted by the new Westin as well but ouch...

Fingers crossed.
