SPG Amex (Canadian Edition) - Annual Fee Waived? (Or what is the best promotion?)
I am looking at the SPG American Express Credit Card (Canadian Edition). If I decide to order it through the american express website, I will get 10 000 SPG Points.
Anyway to get the annual fee waived for the first year? (It seemed it was the case with previous promotions)
I am aware of the refer a friend promotion but this will only be good for my friend as there is no advantage for me to accept his referral!
Is there any other promotions out there that are worth something for newbies?

gets you the 10,000 plus first year free. The previous offer that expired March 30 was 15,000 plus first year free.
The CDN SPG Amex thread is usually up to date with current offers:

or you can see the discussion at RFD:

We Canucks get screwed as usual. The US card had an offer of 25K recently, 15K for the Canadian card is the most I've seen recently.

I seem to recall a 20,000 bonus some years back, does that still appear occasionally or is it a thing of the past?

Thanks for the link, but in looking at the fine print that one has the $120 annual fee. Are there any promotions right now waiving that annual fee that anyone has heard of?

You just have to add a "y" in the URL so that it reads "fyf." Here's the link:
