I was just speaking to an AMEX rep on an unrelated matter and asked them about this promo, she said it is valid, but they are having an IT glitch. She says calling in is just fine, but I would still suggest printing a copy of that screen for 'security'.

Anyone know if there is a way to refer a friend to this specific offer? When I tried refer-a-friend the offer gives friend 15,000 points (and me 5K), but there's no first year fee waiver.
Thanks

Is there another similar offer out to the one that expired in July, ie. 15K Starpoints for 1K spend in 3 mo, no annual fee first year?

Signup bonus at 20k!
Anyone find a no-annual fee link?
There's usually one (as in December and May? last year when they had promos like this)

Curious if anyone has a link to waive the annual fee, I would love to sign up but given all the other free offers the annual fee isn't very appealing.

Just curious to know if there has been any trend to the 20K offer for this card? I'm patiently waiting for a better offer than the current offer of 10K.

And the US version has had their 30K bonus offer early this year. I hope tomorrow (June 1) brings something better our way.

I have had this card for about 5 years - am a Lifetime Platinum. I spend about $40K/yr on the card. I called this month, just prior to the account fee registration and complained that I didn't want to be charged the $120. The agent happily stated she could not waive the fee but would send me a $125 Amex gift card usable wherever Amex is accepted. I happily agreed. Good deal.

2 years ago I got 7,000 SPG points when I complained over the same deal - good customer service folks, these people.

I had a smaller spend, and was offered $50 cert. Not much, but better than nothing. This was in April, no cert in the mail yet... Need to call again...

Seems like it's been forever since the last time the fee was waived.
