The Elite Thank You program ended on December 31, 2017. You have until June 30, 2018, to award your Thank You certificates to SPG associates.

A great way to say thanks -

You expect and deserve outstanding service from SPG®. So when an associate goes above and beyond to make your stay, it’s nice to have a special way to express your thanks.

That’s what Elite Thank You certificates are all about. Print yours now to make the day of every deserving SPG associate who receives one.

Remember: All SPG associates and customer care agents are eligible to receive Elite Thank You certificates. Enjoy giving them — and we’ll keep looking for ways to earn them.

From T&C :"however, the certificates cannot be used as a form of bribery or fraud, nor may the certificates be sold in any manner"

It's a certificate that an elite member can use to recognize a Starwood associate who provided outstanding service, whether in person or over the phone.

How do I get Elite Thank You certificates?
Please visit spg.com/elitethankyou to download and print your certificates.

What would be a good example where we should give a staff member one of these?

Maybe for the rare instances when they actually give you an upgrade for being Gold.

While a little context on the program would be helpful, I'm guessing this program is something along the lines of those in place at Alaska and United, whereby employees receiving kudos are formally recognized or receive some sort of benefit (or chance for a benefit).

I'd interpret these certificates to be used for more than just good customer service but when an employee goes above and beyond. I'd be cautious about doing it, however, to reward an action that may go beyond program guidelines.

What are these spg "thank you" cards for?

So I received these "thank you" cards that I am to pass over to SPG associates that provide good service. Are these a token of thanks or do they provide some sort of monetary benefit to the employee? On the back it has a URL... www.spg.com/associate and each one has a unique serial numer.

In my experience, the staff really seem appreciative when they get a Thank You. I think they are great and am glad there is a way to say thanks for great service.

That's good because I have a bunch and need to give them out, but just didn't know if staff would 'sigh' and file 13 them.

I usually give all 4 to the lounge attendant at the Sheraton Pittsburgh. I basically lived there for 2.5 years while on a consulting project and she was what we jokingly called my "Pittsburgh Mom". I would give her 40 if spg would give me more!

I've also been informed at some properties that TripAdvisor (or other social review sites) comments are closely looked at, and staff will get special recognition if they are mentioned by name in a review. I rarely have my Thank You cards on me when I want to use them, but always make it a point to get someone's name and mention them in a note to the GM or in reviews if they've done something or just generally been exceptional to me.

95% of your posts on FT are just to solicite referrals. I compare your contributions here to be the equivalent to the dude outside of my grocery store who asks for money for his "homeless shelter" everytime I want to shop.
