Confirmation E-Mail?

Has anyone who signed up for this gotten the confirmation e-mail that was offered as an option? If so, how long after your registration?

I tried to register, but the computer got hung up during the submission process. I opened another window and tried to sign up again, and it said that I already had registered. It seems like Starwood usually sends a promo confirmation e-mail instantaneously, but 12+ hours later, I still haven't received anything yet.

I thought at first I must be experiencing calendar FAIL because I thought it was only March 19th and that Earth Day was scheduled for March 26th.

Then I read this in the terms and conditions of the offer:

Registered members will receive 100 bonus Starpoints®, which will be credited to the member's account no later than April 15, 2011.

Best regards,

Question

Am I the only one that thinks this Earth Hour thing is about the most ridiculous thing going?

Our office got an email from our office manager yesterday that the landlord wanted our organization to shut off all the printers and photocopiers etc etc etc to participate in this event.....why wouldn't we do this every day of the year instead of, in this case, one weekend of the year, if we really thought that it would be worthwhile?

Isn't this just a hollow gesture that actually results in more negative global impact given the advertising effort than it's actually worth?
