Departure Lounge for Star Alliance Passengers in Sydney, Australia
What lounge can Star Alliance Golds, and those in business class, use when departing Sydney on overseas-bound flights. In our case, we will be taking the AC flight from SYD to YVR (we are both Star Alliance Gold, and we will be flying in (upgraded) business class).

SQ has a *G lounge however SQ being SQ they often deny access to non SQ passengers.
There are no other *G lounges at SYD so this narrows it down a bit. There used to be a RCC but this was the worst of the Star Alliance lounges.

May as well extend onto this thread.
I'll be flying out of SYD in a few months - flying SQ in F (SYD-SIN). Would the recommendation for the Koru lounge still hold up - or does SQ have a better F lounge than the comments here imply? (To be fair will probably try both lounges, just wondering if its worth it)

The NZ Koru CLub in SYD is absolutely one of my favourite lounges around the world.
Very Spacious, great selection of food and drinks.
A wonderful view over the tarmac (even though QF lounge's view is better), shower facilities and everything you need.

We refer to the SQ lounge as the "Fortress of Solitude" because on the occasions we've dropped in, we've been the only ones there. But the silence does make checking voice mail easier.
