Five seats together on redemption?
So...any strategies/hints/tips for redeeming C+M for five people at once? Using the ANA tool you can only search for up to four seats together - and even for that there is very little availability. Is there a way I can get my whole family to go together?
Ideally we'll be doing LHR-HNL return in C on C+M...

The Cash & Miles is not really central to the main question - can you get 5 redemption seats on the same itinerary?
In a word, no.
LH occasionally releases large amounts of redemption seats about a month out to various US destination, but on US mainland to HNL routes you have no chance at all.
Let's move this query to the Star Alliance forum for a wider view.

Unfortunately it will be even harder this way. You might get 5 premium seats from UK to USA mainland if you split up and 3 go via LAX and 2 via SFO (for example) but you will get stuck once you get to the west coast. You would have to complete the journey in Y to have any chance of getting even 2 or 3 seats on the same flight. Hawaii F redemptions are just extremely difficult to bag for 1 person, impossible for 5 people I would think. Revenue fares to Hawaii are pretty reasonable given the distance and very good for mileage earning. Perhaps pay this time and sit in the back and use the extra miles you will earn for something else another time?

This doesn't apply to your specific route, but it is very possible to find five or more premium award seats on certain airlines, particularly when it's getting closer to departure date.
For example, Swiss often shows (through Expertflyer) 9 x business seats available and often multiple (greater than 2) x F seats. Right now, you could get 5 x F seats and 9 x business seats on LX64 ZRH-MIA on 13 April.....
Edited to add: There's a similar availability profile on LX between ZRH and NRT in a couple of weeks, as well as availability of at least four seats in business on the NH and UA connecting NRT-HNL-NRT flights, so it can be done.
