ANA Tool - Broken

Presume this is the place to post...

If you are using the ANA tool to check award seats, be aware it's not working properly and is showing award seats where there are none available.

At first, I checked SYD-SIN SQ, and it showed Y/J/F-R available (request) on all flights. I briefly thought SQ may have lifted their embargo on J/F 380/77W flights...

However, checking SYD-BKK on TG also shows F/J/Y available, and there is in fact no F on this route.

Heck, even SIN-LHR a few weeks from now is showing seats in all classes.

So... be warned it's broken for the minute. And it's not just StarNet at play.

Anyone know how long it's been doing this for??

This may be better for the *A Forum or the NH Forum.

It is probably just a bug. It is nothing compared to what UA.com gets.

Are you sure it's not just the triangles which mean that the flight has to be requested?

Yeah, probably better in *A. But I know a heck of a lot of UA users use the tool and probably don't look at *A forum. So that's why I posted here. Happy for the mods to move over there if appropriate

That's exactly correct

But it used to show YES/NO, whereas it now says YES (maybe) for everything

Well to be clear, it's not showing availability that isn't there, it's just not showing availability altogether. That happens once in a while. Log out and sometimes it'll be back to normal.

I also got triangles when I logged on.
It doesn't mean that the tool is broken; it means that the tool has temporarily lost connection to starnet.

Yeah, you're correct. I've not seen it do that before. I will keep an eye over the next few days and hopefully it'll come back.

Yup that is what I got as well. As lucky said above, it's really just not showing anything, as opposed to showing everything which I originally implied.

Triangle doesn't mean "Yes (maybe)". It means that the tool doesn't have access to the data. Once the connection to starnet is restored, it will show the usual "O" (available), "X" (no availability) and "-" (class not offered)

lucky9876coins Mar 13, 2009 10:17 pm

Does this mean Starnet blocking is lifted?:p
