*A Baggage Interline in DME ?
Hallo,
since TG cancelled my flight BKK-MUC, M&M will force me to
fly BKK-DME-MUC as this is the only flight with seats on that
award-bucket. They refused to rebook BKK-FRA-MUC.
I have to decide until Monday.
This only makes sense (does it at all?
) to me when the luggage can be checked through, as I otherwise will have to obtain a transit visa for Russia ...
Anyone with any experience on that? Thanks for your input!

If you are on single PNR and assuming that DME-MUC is on *A carrier, you should have no problem checking your bag all the way to MUC.
However, if you have a long layover - more than 12 hours, baggage check through may depend on whether or not DME allows to keep checked baggage for transit more than 12 hours.
Good luck

I'd call back and tell them that you only agree to this if they cover all your expenses for a Russian transit visa, including all requisite photos, courier services, expedite services, consular fees, etc. They'll probably STFU very quickly.

I would push back. If a flight you've already ticketed is cancelled by the airline then it is up to the airlines to provide a reasonable alternative. I wouldn't consider limiting options to only those flights with awards available reasonable, and especially not a transit via Russia. If you're interested there is a horror story on FT of someone stuck in transit in Russia without a visa for a day or more.
