BWI *A Lounges

Since United and USAirways closed their lounges at BWI this summer, what options do we have in Pier D?

a lounge at BWI? HAH!

in all seriousness though, there is nothing at BWI. it is officially a WN stranglehold.

This is correct. Unless you are flying WN, the facilities are horrible.

people think IAD is bad, BWI is a dump. at least IAD has the A concourse...i don't like BWI all that much, and avoid it at all costs.

25 years ago, didn't all the majors have clubs at BWI? If I recall, AA, DL, EA, PI, TW, UA, and AL (US) all had clubs there.

I would have to disagree - BWI is pretty much domestic only (UA) so in terms of domestic flights, I would much rather go thru BWI vs. IAD and the zoo it can be! Granted IAD has many more options, but if I'm flying domestic, i.e. LAX or ORD, BWI seems like a better choice...Plus who wants to ride a moon shuttle to their gate? BWI has less traffic, faster check in and security lines (yes even faster than IAD's elite line) and less people. How can you say BWI is a dump? In terms of the OP, I apologize for off topic reply in advance.

While off topic from the OP, I couldn't agree with you more. For domestic flights, much rather get to BWI (usually within 1 hour of the flight), check bags, go through security (which even when the line is long, it flows quickly), but my bottle of water and it is about time for boarding. And this is the only airport where I have been invited to board by name. Kind of cool, especially to see the look on the assembled Red Carpet Gate Lice... I guess I don't look the part of a GS flier.

But I have to admit I do miss the RCC, the ladies were always nice to me and my wife when I actually did get there with enough time to enjoy it.

Later,
SC
