STARRTW Rerouting
Hi there,
As I have not done a Start RTW for many year I need some of the expert advice here.
My friend started a STARRTW ( I think 34K) in Y class last year.
He has some remaining sectors left, however there are 2 segments (on different Star Alliance airlines) he wanted to take out.
Can he just disregard the flights and take the final segments (as the 2 segments are on different airlines to the final segments) or he will have to reroute and reissue the ticket. If the latter, what is the cost and the process?
Thanks

If the removal of 2 legs results in additional stopover that must comply with the rules (ie cannot be the 2nd for that city).
There may or may not be a change in taxes due/refunded.

I know coupons must be used in order, but what happens if it is with different airlines and they have different PNRs . Basically there are 2 sectors my friend don't want to use:
Currently the situation is that he has a ticket:
a-b-c-d-e
he wants to get from b to d without going through c and he will pay for an oneway fare for a direct flight b-d.
bc and cd are on 1 airline and d-e is a different airline.
If he turns up at d to get the d-e flight, do you think there will be any problem. If worst comes to worst he can do the re-routing at the airport?
