Great Escapade Fare Query

Where might be the cheapest place to buy a Great Escapade business class fare? Do they necessarily follow the Star RTW fares?

Anyone with any experience in this?

Thanks.

These other RTWs have their own rules (much more restrictive than *A RTW).

The Great Escapade RTW is limited to SQ, MI, NZ, and VS. It does allow backtracking and there is no restriction on the number of transfers through a particular city. So, in some ways it is more and in some ways less restrictive than a *A RTW.

I think the OP is asking for fares, not rules

Such a difference in fares!

Does anyone know if there is an online booking engine for the HK fare?? I checked the SG HK website and they say you have to go to a travel agent....

Gardyloo, many thanks for the info. I did not realise that EF can do that. (Well, I've just recently subscribed and have much to learn). I went into the Fare information section.

BTW, I managed to get the fare basis for other RTW (eg CRTWSTARx). Do you know what is the fare basis for the Great Escapade so I can do my own search? Thanks.

Strange. If I specify SQ as carrier, I cannot find tha fare basis. If I specify NZ, I could see it. Hmmmm

Certainly will. I have also now tried the HK websites for both VS and NZ, but nothing is mentioned there at all about Great Escapade at all. At least SQ HK site does comment on it.

I reckon it must be time for some out of box thinking, and for more and different brains to enter this hunt as well!

In business CRWESC, in economy YxRWESC where x = H for high season departure or L for low season departure.

My copy of the rules (dated December 2006) has booking class (for CRWESC) Z for VS and NZ (Y for domestic), C for SQ, C or J for MI and D for BD.

Is there a new version of the rules?

I think my mistake... my copy is dated Jan 07 and you're mainly right re the booking codes -

So D on SQ, Z on VS and NZ, J/C on MI.

On EF the fares are shown as CRWESC for VS, ZRWESC for NZ, and SQ doesn't even show up. I think I recall that SQ and some GDSs don't always communicate fully?

Please note that this fare has a MPM of 29,000 miles. You may however buy up to a maximum of 4500 miles extra for more $$.

Extra 1500 miles is US$150 and every increment of 1500 miles is an extra US$150. ie 1500m/3000m/4500m. For economy class the increment is only $100 from $100.
