Terms and Conditions
For the purposes of the USA and English law in the event of any conflict this English version of these Terms and Conditions & Privacy Policy prevails over the Mandarin version.





This promotion (`Promotion`) is open to legal residents of the fifty United States (including District of Columbia) and the People's Republic of China excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan (`China`) aged 18 or over. 

Employees of Star Alliance Services GmbH and of the Star Alliance member carriers, TLC Marketing and each of its agents, employees and distributors are not eligible to participate in this Promotion.

Promotion Award: Eligible customers will receive a Voucher for a free round of golf or a free golf lesson at a participating golf course (`the Award`). A list of participating courses (`Courses`) can be found at www.staralliance.com/golf. This list is subject to amendment from time to time.

To qualify for this Promotion, you must:



Register at staralliance.com/golf and provide a valid email address; and

book and fly one paid qualifying roundtrip operated by a Star Alliance member carrier between March 1, 2007 and May 31, 2007 (`qualifying travel`); and

be a member of a Star Alliance member carrier frequent flyer program at the time of qualifying travel; and

ensure that the qualifying travel is credited to the frequent flyer account specified during registration for this Promotion; and 

ensure that their itineraries include at least one international sector; and

For residents of the United States travel must be in a qualified booking class, which includes all paid travel in First and Business class and Y, B and M booking classes in Economy / Coach class, except as noted below: 



For travel on Air Canada: Only J, C, Y, M and U booking classes qualify

For travel on Air New Zealand: U, E and O booking classes in Premium Economy qualify in addition to those listed above

For travel on ANA: S booking class qualifies in addition to those listed above

For travel on bmi: U and L booking classes in Premium Economy qualify in addition to those listed above

For travel on THAI: U booking class in Premium Economy qualifies in addition to those listed above

For travel on United: Only F, C and P booking classes qualify for travel in United First and United Business, and Y, B and M for travel in United Economy

For travel on SAS: S booking class qualifies in addition to those listed above



For residents of China, excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the qualifying fare(s) must have a value of 3500CNY or greater. 



To qualify, you must register for the Promotion by May 31, 2007 and all qualifying travel must be completed by May 31, 2007. The Award does not include travel, hotel accommodations or any other unspecified expenses. You are responsible for all travel to and from the participating golf courses and any other unspecified expenses. 

Bookings for golf courses must be made before November 26, 2007, and all golf rounds or lessons must be redeemed on or before November 30, 2007. All golf lessons or rounds under this Promotion must be booked and redeemed by these dates or you forfeit the Award.

Exclusions: 



Any tickets purchased with frequent flyer miles or points will not be eligible to enter the promotion.

Travel on Star Alliance member carrier marketed flights operated by non-member airlines does not qualify for this Promotion.

Any industry discount travel including, but not limited to, staff and travel agent tickets do not qualify for this Promotion.



Roundtrip (`Roundtrip`) is defined as two each-way trips that depart from and return to the same city (`Co-terminal`) booked in a single reservation under one ticket number. Your ticket number can be found on your ticket or ticket receipt. 

The Promoter is Star Alliance Services GmbH (`Star Alliance GmbH`) with offices at Frankfurt Airport Center, Frankfurt 60546 Germany. 

All personal data provided in the course of this promotion is collected by TLC Marketing plc (`TLC Marketing`) with offices at 54 Baker Street, London W1U 7BU.

This Promotion and any dispute relating to it is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

This Promotion is void to the extent that it is otherwise prohibited by law.

According to Japanese law, tickets purchased in Japan do not qualify for this Promotion.

Registration Requirement


You must register for this Promotion and provide the Promoter with accurate, complete and updated registration information, including your valid e-mail address to qualify for the Award.

By signing up for this Promotion you understand and agree that Star Alliance GmbH and TLC Marketing may send to you emails regarding this Promotion including, without limitation, instructions to complete fulfilment of the Promotion.

The email address you provided during registration must be valid until November 30, 2007 in order to remain eligible for the Award.

All personal data collected in the course of this promotion will be destroyed following the end of the promotion. 

If the e-mail address is not current at time of Promotion fulfilment no Award will be given. We hold no responsibility for any emails sent that do not reach the recipient for any reason including, but not limited to, faulty email address, fire-walls or full inbox.

Personal and flights details entered during the registration process will be validated by the Star Alliance member carrier frequent flyer program selected during registration.

Once you have met the qualifying criteria as noted above, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address registered for the Promotion. You should expect to receive a confirming email approximately three (3) days after the qualifying travel. This email includes a link to participating golf courses. You must then select golf booking preferences in order of preference. Participating golf courses subject to change and golf bookings subject to availability. 

After you select your preferences for golf bookings, a booking agency will make the golf booking based on your preferences and golf course availability. After booking has been finalized, you will receive a confirmation email that will include a voucher (`Voucher`) for the Award. 


Voucher and Redemption Terms and Conditions


A Voucher entitles the person to whom it has been issued to the Award at a participating golf course. 

Each qualifying Roundtrip can only be used to claim one Voucher per Roundtrip during the promotional period. 

There is no limit to the number of Vouchers that can be claimed as long as the participation criteria are met. 

Vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other membership scheme, discount or promotional offer. 

Vouchers are not transferable or redeemable for cash. The cash value of each Voucher shall be US$0.001. 

Photocopied, defaced, damaged or illegible Vouchers will not be accepted. 

The Promoter, its agents and distributors cannot be held responsible for any Course ceasing to participate in this Promotion or altering the terms of its participation in this Promotion or declining acceptance of a Voucher or to admit any person to the Course for any reason. 

Neither the Promoter, its agents nor distributors can be held responsible for any disagreement concerning the Award or Courses nor accept any liability whatsoever for personal loss or injury at any Course. Any dispute must be settled directly with the Course concerned. 

The Promoter, its agents or distributors cannot accept any liability for lost or stolen or damaged Vouchers. The Promoter reserves the right at any time to withdraw or amend without notice any or all of the terms and conditions of this Promotion. 

Bookings for the Award will be confirmed to you via the email address provided during registration by the Promoter’s concierge team. 

If you cancel your confirmed booking at a Course it cannot be re-booked. 

Final Course selection and availability is at the discretion of the Course concerned.

Handicap and other golf course restrictions may apply.

On arrival at the Course the Voucher or reference number must be surrendered at the Course Clubhouse. Failure to do so may result in being charged for the Award. The Promoter shall not be liable to repay any such charges.

Each Voucher may only be used for one Award and must be redeemed on the same day as it is presented. No more than one Voucher can be redeemed for the same tee time.

As previously stated, this Promotion and any dispute relating to it is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts

You are responsible for any Travel/hotel accommodations, meals, tips, gratuities, taxes and other unspecified expenses. By participating, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and agree to release Promoter, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, and their respective employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, advertising, promotion and legal advisors from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with, preparation for, travel to, or participation in Promotion, or possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of Award or participation in any Promotion-related activity. Promoter is not responsible if Award cannot be awarded or redeemed due to travel cancellations, delays or interruptions due to acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather or acts of terrorism. In case of dispute as to the identity of any entrant, entry will be dellared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry.
