I'll opt for the F lounge instead of the hangar. I've been told that they already closed a shop to convert it into a temporary F lounge until the new *A lounge opens (hopefully) in March.

I think it is supposed to be an unused hangar.

Flysurfer do you always fly F or are you assuming getting in based on elite status? I have read on the OW boards that elites will not be admitted to the interim F lounge(s). Not sure about the *A situation.

Unlike OW Emerald, *A Gold status doesnt generally give access to F lounge although there are some specific airline exceptions for their own elites.

I always TRY to fly F, but that's hard to achieve ex LAX to MUC. So I have to rely on my Mojo, which I luckily have plenty of on LAX. ;) In other words: They know me there, so I'm quite confident that I won't have to suffer in the hangar.

Right I knew that but assumed the LH F lounge was desginated as *G lounge. Will there be an interim *G lounge that is not off-terminal?

Based on the rumours I don't think so, but I don't have any hard facts one way or another.

Nice find....I was trying to get a map of the airport grounds to figure out which hangar it is - but I think I can picture it.

Any news on the situation at TBIT? I'm flying on Swiss tonight as a *G. What lounge(s) will I be able to access?

Diamond Seats Nov 6, 2006 1:38 am

A friend took OZ F today from LAX. He said the shared lounge is terrible. You have to pay for internet access on the desk top. And no free wifi.

The shared F lounge at TBIT

I took SQ 11 on Tuesday. Got the invitation card to the new shared F lounge. Okay, the first thing I noticed was the fact that the chairs are dated. Yes, the tan colour chairs were so old.. by looking at the cushions. There are some computers, but I was told the wi fi is about USD7 per day charge. When logging on, my mac noticed the wi-fi was the same as the one at old SKL. Thus, I was able to use the wifi for free. :D

Definitely, nothing worth to mention about this lounge. The plastic cups for wine and champagne are not appealing. And yes SQ told me later on, next time I can ask for meal vouchers and I can spend it in one of the restaurant at TBIT. The Grill looks a better place to wait for the flight. No tarmac view, but the seats look more comfy being a restaurant.

This is really a very friendly description. The place is awful. :td:

With all the airlines using the lounge one would think they could come up with something better as far as furniture and food is concerned. Looks like they all want to save some money during the transition phase. I'll go for the vouchers too when I am there again in a couple of weeks.

FWIW, July 20 is the latest rumored opening date for new lounges.@:-)
