RTW to include visiting Galapagos

What would be the best way to fit a visit in to the Galapagos Islands on a *A RTW?

It seems that no *A airlines fly to Quito or Guayquil, and we must go there to get to the islands. So I assume that we will have to buy a side-trip from a location where a *A airline flys to. But where?

Factors included in the decision as to which location is "best" include flight cost, reliabilityand choice of airlines operating the route, and cost/safety/attractiveness of the city where we will be making our *A stopover.

Try Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; or Mexico City.

Ecuador is definitely not easy to reach with * airlines.
RG to LIM or CCS and LH to CCS seem to be closest * destinations.

If you are in Toronto most of the time, take AC to Lima or Bogota and fly from there. If you have any points or status on oneworld, take AA from YYZ through Miami to Quito or Guayaquil.
