Check your host FF scheme to see if they've listed it on their "news" pages - mine has already advised a few weeks ago V and W classes no longer earn miles on TG and L class won't from 01 July either. U has also lost it's COS bonus as it's now used for TG's new Y+ product, so classed as a Y fare only.

Also other *G's will lose:

1/ Premium checkin when travelling on fares less than full Y - MUST use self-service

2/ Priority luggage when travelling on fares less than full Y

3/ Additional baggage allowance when travelling on fares less than full Y

"will" lose not have lost ... right?

You can likely add *G club access to the list one day soon

So if I have a flight ABZ-LHR-SIN using BMI tiny tickets and then SQ for LHR-SIN, then

1/ I use self check in and queue again for a cargo bag drop?

2/ ...

3/ will I get priority tag fro the LHR-SIN leg? Will my bags be check thro like always from ABZ? or do I check bags to LHR and check in again to get the proper SQ ^ service?

Man, this sucks!!!

I can't find it but I do remember seeing that TG will not give miles for V class and less flights.

It does seem mad that you'll now get 25% of miles on BA but not on BD

I actually think BD is going the furthest any *A airline has gone in removing all benefits. Basically no booking classes will earn points, no lounge access on most fares, no extra baggage allowance and no priority check-in. I actually think BD may leave *A soon, as they offer a product vastly incompatible with most of the partners (no C-class on pretty much all their routes) and strictly against the *A rules for loyalty benefits. I thought that *A had a stronger say in these matters and actually demanded something from partner airlines! It is supposed to assure a certain quality and service, and BD are completely taking it all away.
I've been very critical to SK's changes and their attitude onboard and on ground, but they haven't even tried to remove any *A benefits. They even ADDED benefits with awarding points on Snowflake tickets (comparable to bmi's new TINY tickets) and adding all *A and loyalty benefits to these lowest fares. No other airline (to my knowledge) has removed baggage allowance, check-in and lounge access on even their lowest fares (well, bmi are doing it to basically all fares except the two/three most expensive fares)... Should bmi really be allowed to classify itself as a *A member? Do you think they provide the quality of a *A airline?

As a reference, please check this list from *A:

Star Alliance Gold benefits.

Priority Reservations Waitlisting1 - when there aren't any seats left on your preferred flight, gives you priority should a seat become available.
Priority Airport Standby - gives you the flexibility to change plans at the last minute when you don't have a reservation.1/2
Priority Airport Check-in - avoid long lines regardless of paid fare or class of service.
Priority Baggage Handling - like you, your bags get priority treatment and are among the first to be unloaded.
Extra Baggage Allowance - an additional 20kg (44 pounds) or one additional piece of luggage3 which means you can check in three bags instead of two.
Priority Boarding4 - enjoy the freedom of boarding at your convenience along with First and Business Class passengers.
Airport Lounge Access - available worldwide for you and a friend5 when you travel with any Star Alliance airline regardless of your class of travel.

It would be very useful if somebody could put up a sticky on the BMI board with all the changes and exactly what the rules will be like after 01 Aug.
There are too many threads to read now and they are all very long, so it's a bit hard to find the actual facts.

Also, does anybody have an appropriate e-mail address to BMI, like the customer relations department.
I feel I also want to share my opinions regarding all this with the management of BMI.
The changes are just very very bad....

[email protected] and also [email protected]

Had the usual response from CR this morning, saying they will respond within a week... charming... let's just wait and see if it is a standard response or whether there is actually some thought in it.

LH: Now UA MP gets no points on L/T fares.
UA: Now charging for booze long haul. No more free meals in USA (except PS-Service).

Add to that UA/AC/RG/US in bankruptcy.

Enough to make you hop over to OW!
I'd rather have a few select non-accruing/low-accruing classes in economy instead of what several OneWorld carriers have across the board for discount Y.

Maybe we can score Virgin as a partner! Just imagine the ATW possibilities on Virgin Galactic...

That is because, Jacob, the communication from BD has been quite appauling (surprise, surprise ), contradictory, and sometimes totally non-existent (they have not replied to letters and e-mails for e.g.). In other words, we don't know yet whether some of the changes - that we know, 100%, that they had intended to announce (like no lounge access) and have made one or two vague references to in Press Releases - will indeed be implemented.

This is good news btw, because we also now know that BD / DC management were very surprised - the words "shocked" and "amazed" have been used in fact - at the reaction of BD FTers, other FFs and businesss pax etc, and are possible re-examining whether some of the changes are a good idea afterall ! That said, things like required SSCI and no miles on Tiny fares have been fully announced and I doubt, very much, will be abandoned - much of it is here to stay, but our opinions may change one or two things we hope.

BTW, I suggested making a Sticky once 5 Threads started discussing all this but the concensus on the Forum was that each Thread dealt with a different aspect and so they should be left as they are. The new Sticky however - where we have been asked to pose questions that will be made to BD management - is the best place to look, cos the questions there contain concise and specific details of where we THINK the changes will be taking things.

Please join the fight guys while we still have a chance to change things !

I've begun to understand how confusing and unstructured the changes are and how badly BMI has dealt with all this, so don't worry.
I have to say, no matter how much I dislike the SAS intra-European concept, at least the introduction and the implementation was pretty straight-forward and structured in November last year.
All the major decisions had already been taken when the concept was launched. I can't really say the same about BMI...

I will write a few lines to the customer relations dept this weekend to express my dissatisfaction with the BMI 'enhancements'...

Just don't expect an answer.

Does anybody have an address for Star Alliance? We might get some sense from them.
