With *A, the rule of the operating carrier is what matters. So it doesn't matte if it's UA K. It matters what fare UA K will book you into on LH

So UA flight number starting with a "9" for LH code share that is a K class is treated like it is a K fare on LH flight number? And thus get no mileage on MileagePlus
I think you'd have to speak to LH to find out - maybe pull up your reservation on LH's site and it'll give you the information. I seem to remember that K on UA did NOT translate to K on LH, but again, I don't remember fully. Try searching the UA forum, or maybe even ask in the newbie threads in either UA or LH. |

I have the question concerning tariff basis. On my ticket there is:OXX210T. What does it mean? It it is ticket for M&M miles.
I have first class ticket but on one step of my journey there is no first and I have to fly in bussines. What about lounges and bagage allowance? |
I have never heard of Z in Royal First fare, L R in Royal Silk, N in Economy according to TG's booking office in Thailand,
First: F A P Gold Upgrade First: P Mileage Upgrade and Redemption First: O Business: C D J Gold Upgrade Business: J Mileage Upgrade and Redemption Business: I Premium Economy: U Gold Upgrade Premium Economy: U Mileage Upgrade and Redemption Premium Economy: L Economy: Y B M H Q (S T K) Economy Group (50% mileage): G Economy Discounted (25% mileage): V W Mileage Redemption Economy: X N.B. Premium Economy is sold on CPH and ARN only. Economy S T K fare is not used by TG booking office but appear on TG's 2012 handbook. |
Apologies if this is a stupid question, but where do I find the operating class on Lufthansa of a TAP P bucket ticket? I know P on Lufthansa is cheap business but on TAP it's listed as economy. TAP P does get A3 miles but I wouldn't put it past Lufthansa to not credit any, if at all possible.

UA
I try to book a business class RTW ticket through staralliance.com which is issued by lufthansa. Can I get this ticket issued by United 016 ticket? I am GS of united and want to credit everything to united to maintain my status. All the segments shows D class, if UA metal, is that UA D class? thanks!

LH RTW fares use D as a basis in general, UA's logic is a bit different:
Code:
17NOV15**17NOV15/LH SHASHA/NSP;CT/TPM ...../MPM ..... |
Sorry, I cannot understand.

United uses the Z booking class as basis to price CRWSTAR1-3, LH D

Some changes to Air China booking classes are being implemented from the end of March 2016.
Based on the new Phoenix Miles earnings table the key ones seem be that the highest business class fare bucket will now be J (was C previously), and most importantly they will start using "R" for some discounted business class fares. This previously was I think a travel industry fare (that is at least was a contact at SAS told me ..) - with no mileage earning on any partner programs - so until new agreements are made between alliance partners be careful of booking discounted business class fares on CA - at least make sure they are in the "Z" rather than "R" fare bucket. It appears also that the new booking code for Premium Economy fares will be "G" (whereas it was "W" previously) - again I am basing this on the new earnings table. There are couple of other apparently switched earnings classes. EDIT: It looks like some FFPs have already updated their earnings table to reflect these changes (notably United) https://www.united.com/CMS/en-US/mar...spx?ItemId=312 NEW: http://s22.postimg.cc/uvp66tac1/CA_new.png OLD: http://s12.postimg.cc/yuk6c765p/CA_old.png |
Hi
TLV -BRU flight cancelled with SN, offering rerouting with OS/LH/LX with stopover. Is there any way i could maximize the miles earned from this rerouting? i think LX tickets generally earn more miles on the lower booking classes, in comparison with LH. For example, i see online tickets with LH for cheap, but if i try to book it under a SN flight number, the same flight jumps up alot. So can i ask SN CS to rebook me on LH flight, but tell them the SN flight number under which to book it? if you get what i mean... |
Locate an alternative that suits you and ask SN to rebook onto it. They will not try to force you onto anything else, any LH group is OK.

Not sure if this is the right place for this question ....
I'm trying to book a flight USA to Europe on UA and I want to avoid the basic economy restriction that prevents seat assignments without paying. If I avoid a basic economy fare, my UA elite benefits put me up in economy plus for. free. Of course, you pay more for the ticket. I'm asking about this because last month, I booked a cheap with KLM itinerary that had four of five flights on Delta metal, and of those four flights, three of them were KLM flight numbers because KLM issued the ticket. On all of those flights, Delta did not recognize the basic economy restriction because it was a KLM flight number. I was able to choose seats in advance for free. Only on the one flight that was a Delta flight number did they recognize the basic economy. It was explained to me by a gate agent that if the flight had a KLM or Air France flight number, Delta's system never recognizes those tickets as basic economy. Is there some similar quirk or loophole in Star Alliance? Would booking it with a Brussels, Lufthansa,, Swiss, SAS ticket and codeshare flight number do the trick or would they all translate directly into United basic economy? |
Hello,
Does anyone know what fare class the RTW tickets map to for mileage accrual? Is it Y? Does each Star Alliance airline handle it differently? Does the fare class depend on the mileage program I will credit the miles, or the metal flown? Thank you! |
