Lounge access / BKK

Here's a simple series of questions about just one aspect of the complicated world of *A

Flying TG economy will my Senator/Gold LH card get me into lounges at BKK ? If so, which one to choose ?

Slightly more tricky: will I get in a lounge travelling on a non-Star carrier? (e.g. Bangkok Airways or Air Asia)? There seems to be a different interpretation on this one at different airports.

Let's save booking classes etc etc foranother day

Yes. The best lounges are the TG Biz/*A lounges near gates 31 and 51. More discussion on these lounges can be found on the TG forum.

The LH lounge at BKK is classified as a Business lounge, not a Senator lounge, so you may not get access there if you don't have a non *A flight. If you're flying Bangkok Airways, they have their own lounge for all passengers.

Bangkok Airways have their own little lounge area for all pax. It has free fuit juice, water, tea & coffee and small nibbles (including fruit). At Koh Samui airport they have internet access too. Very good airline, but if ur on the ATP, make sure u get row 1 (for extra leg room)

Access to TG Lounge using UA RCC pass

Can you access the TG lounges at BKK with a UA RCC pass. I am flying on TG in coach from BKK-BLR (19:20 departure).

Since the UA RCC doesn't open until 19:00, can I get access to a TG lounge?

Thanks in advance

CryptKeeper, the little Bangkok Airways lounge in Bangkok also has internet terminals, but you have to stand-up (no chairs) when logging in....guess that's to encourage you to move on after quickly checking emails, etc.

ny747, I don't think you can access TG biz lounges with just a UA RCC pass. But if you have any Star Alliance Gold Card, you can get in. For example, if you are UA Premier Executive or Premier Executive 1K you can just flash the card and TG boarding pass.

Thanks - I'm using PG to Yangon on the same trip. I'm not expecting much in the way of lounges at RGN

I was hoping that my brother who has no status with UA could use the RCC passes that came with the Ameniti trial promotion -- oh well.

Thanks though

I would hardly class the Lufthansa lounge in BKK as business class. It has a good shower and with a gold senator card you can use it regardless of airline flown.

The new Thai biz lounge is great and on 2 floors. The free massage has stopped but it is stil fantastic.

Bangkok airways are great and Koh Samui airport is great fun. Do try to go to Koh Tao if you have time it is paradise.

I spoke to the lounge staff before they stopped the massages and they said that they might bring it back after a few months...they didn't say when or why.

The Louis Tavern Lounge upstairs from the departure level had a complimentary foot massage last time I checked. Citibank Gold gets you in the lounge for free so I guess Citibank Platinum should get you in as well
