Could someone explain in layman's terms why and how this posting (booking class assignments) is beneficial in planning travel. I don't fly that much but always find that the postings on FT are very informative and contribute a great deal to my limited flying experiences. Thanks

Different FFPs have earning rates that vary according to booking class and airline flown.
Knowing what the booking classes are for each airline helps to maximise earning for $$ as can see what alternatives are best - eg changing to a codeshare or flying the route on a different airline.

Airnzboy has kindly posted the newly rearranged booking classes for NZ (effective 10 June 2005 I presume).

RTW ticket class question
I've been booked by our company travel-secretary on a Star Alliance RTW business-class ticket going amongst others FRA-SIN on SQ. The booking-class for SQ on the FRA-SIN leg is A. What does this mean?
Please help as I need to make sure the secretary has not made a mistake and put me in seats reserved for those with hearing impediments so they're right next to the galley and toilets in coach...
Please accept my apologies if this is not the right thread for this question.

Yes - there's been a mistake if you're booked on a Business Class RTW, but it's a nice one! A class is used for SQ First Class cabin on Star RTW's. Business Class should book in D class for SQ.
Cheers.

First, I'm impressed at the great feedback received so far. Thanks for that. And it looks like I'm up for a treat if this booking-class really pans out!
Second, my flight from FRA to SIN is SQ325 which I belive is one of the new 777-300ERs with the new interior. Has the reconfiguration had any impact on the the booking classes SQ is using? Can old A-class become their new business-class code? I need to manage my expectations a little bit here, before investing in some smart carry-on luggage to match the first-class experience of SQ
