Star Alliance Gold Perks on Olympic Air
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I was curious if there were any extra benefits I am entitled to on OA being a Star Alliance Gold member by virtue of my Avianca Diamond status. Thanks

Olympic Air is not a Star Alliance airline, even if a subsidiary of the Greek airline carrier Aegean Airlines.

This seems to be a problem that comes up once in a while. I seem to recall that you get benefits if you have an A3 flight number. If it's an OA flight number then you're out of luck.

A3 flight wet leasing OA aircraft, yes. OA flight wet leasing A3 aircraft, no.
How do you tell? All international flights are A3 flights and all domestic flights are OA.

Unfortunately the flights I was looking at are ATH-JMK so domestic. Guess I won't be entitled to any *A Gold perks. Shame, could have used the free checked bag benefit :/
