Slightly OT but I'm not a fan of T5 either. It was a big step backward for me when BA's WAW service switched from T3 to T5. No more CX or QF lounges

Swiss and Austrian are very strict on the weight front. That said, they give you a tag and tell you to leave your bag at the bottom of the gangway. I always pull the tag off and board with my carry-on normally. I've never seen them take bags at the gate, but then I've never been asked to pay for a bag either.

I have 12 hours transit in LHR, flying in on AC, out on A3. Upon arrival, Is it possible to go to the LH lounge to store my bags then go back to arrival before heading to the city? Thanks

No, once you pass through transit security at LHR you are airside again and there is no escape! You would I think have to offload yourself from A3 in order to be allowed back to landside. I think there's a left luggage place in arrivals at T2, it will cost you but I think that's the only way to do it.

For a western breakfast, I would say UA - opens 05.00, for something Asian, SQ - opens 05.30.
LH opens at 05.00 too but I've found their breakfasts poor post covid but I haven't been in at that time in a couple of months.
I realise, I've never been to AC for breakfast but I generally regard it as the weakest of the three at the B gates.

OK, UA Lounge is excellent for breakfast. Decent bacon, sausage & hash browns, plus really decent Illy coffee. Also, the (very dour) bar tender made a great Bloody Mary. Very happy. Super busy at 10am though. Had to sit at bar.

If you are looking to try out the LHR lounges, please be aware that on 8th February the SQ lounge will close for refurbishment. The re-opening date is 'summer' of this year whatever that means.
Of course, particularly around the departure times of SQ A380 services, this will no doubt put pressure on the AC and UA lounges which may fill up pretty quickly.
