Can't 'link' tickets between EVA Air and UA or AC?
Hi,
I am heading to Asia and looking to take BR's Premium Economy class. I can't seem to get the connecting ticket 'linked' and was told that I'd need to buy a separate ticket to get to SFO or YVR and back. My worry is that if there is any sort of delay they I'll lose the rest of my ticket and be stuck, so I want them all on the same ticket.
Is there any way to do this?
Thanks
Dr. PITUK

FT, please dont kill me if I have this wrong.
I think EVA doesnt have an agreement with UA but it does with AC.
Unfortunately for you, if it is the case, none of the 2 airlines will take responsibility for a missed flight.
Try EVA and AC but remember that if it's an AC operated by UA it wont bring you any further

Not all airlines have interline agreements (which is required to have both ticketed on the same itinerary) but alliance members do so that's not the issue.
It is possible that one of the fares does not permit end-on-end ticketing so they cannot be combined or some other quirk but there is not enough detail here to know for sure. If the OP can provide specific details on the routing/flights/cabins/fare bases in question we might be able to get to the answer.
My bet is that end-on-end is breaking it, but I don't know for sure.

If there is a end-on-end fare restriction, then the TA can insert ghost or passive segments in each of the two booking to 'link' the two bookings:

Thank you all for your advice, especially IluvSQ for offline advice. I actually printed off oliver2002's post as well when I went to a Real (TM) TA rather than a "phone bank", but didn't need it in the end. While I had to provide several prompts on correct fare classes and appropriate prices (i.e. not using 014 ticket), he managed to book my trip with not too much trouble! I still don't get why Amex PTS couldn't do it a month ago.
Thanks again.
