Smile Who is the official Star Alliance consolidator of First/Business travel

Who is the official Star Alliance consolodator of First/Business travel.

With the recent devaluations at best I think we will see in cents per mile (CPM)

Avianca LifeMiles(LM) - 1.5 CPM
UA - 2.0 (current promo)
US Air - 1.9 (current promo)

A first class ticket US-South Asia

UA $2800
US $2900
AV $2500

So AV is still the lowest price.

Drawbacks to the various programs

UA
    US
    • can't book LH First
    • you have to call in for everything, nothing online
    • can't book oneways
    LM
    • can't book mixed econ/bus/first (so often only works for direct routes
    • problems using AMEX credit card
    • not all routes available

So if the LM issues work fine for your needs, even if you purchase miles at 1.5 they are still the cheapest.

Has anyone looked at any other Star Programs for selling miles. Any other programs worth a look at ?

Which *A member has an IATA code of LM? Didn't think Air Mozambique was a member.

AV is useful if you know the tricked routes and can book them online (not that the agents will be able to tell most of the time, but still...)
AV is also MUCH less predictable than UA/US.

Have you actually tried and been able to piece together an award for a routing that doens't show up on the online engine?
