UA/LH/AC/OS Business Class
I am contemplating booking an award redemption trip to Europe in January. I would prefer LX F but it probably won't be available until closer to the travel date.I have traveled LH F before, and am not inclined to spend additional 17.5K miles unless it is new F on LH. So unless LX F becomes available, I am going for business class. I have traveled UA and LH C but not AC executive first or OS J. All 4 are currently available. Would you recommend AC Executive first or OS J over LH C (or UA C)?

from the east coast, it's usually a rather short flight, esp east bound. and it's mostly overnight. i'd pick the one with the best bed and ignore the fluffy things like lounge or catering.
consider LX J too

Moving this to the Star Alliance Forum so the non-UA travellers can add their input.

OS has flights from 3 East Cost / Canadian Gateways (YYZ, IAD; JFK) - they fly 767s and will get refurbished, full-flat C seats between Dec 2012 and April 2013. I believe IAD will receive the upgraded product in Jan, but better check. (Seating is a staggered 1-2-1/2-2-1, so can be easily identified).
IMHO soft product (service, food, drinks) are on par with other airlines' F. With the nw AVOD and seat it should make for a nice ride.

Inn terms of hard product Id say AC J is currently by far the best. Once OS has the new C product on all planes they are certainly worth considering, especially as food/drinks a few notches better than any of the other airlines mentioned.

Never taken AC J, but LH is always excellent in the food and service in my opinion. That said, I totally agree with 787fan that the seat trumps all, which means that UA is even worth considering compared to the old LH or OS angled seats. (Plus the new UA entertainment is far better than LH or old OS.)

I disagree with this, unless they upgrade this element along with the seat. I had a wholly mediocre food/service/drinks experience (and very poor angled seat and pretty tattered aircraft overall) on a recent OS trip (from BKK).
