Lounge Access in Accra

Am connecting through Accra in May and would like to know what lounges I have access to, if any?
  • IAD-ACC in United Business
  • ACC-JNB in SAA Business
  • Have United Club membership
  • Am Star Alliance gold

No lounges were listed on staralliance.com, maybe SAA uses a contract lounge

You will have access to the Aviance Adinkra Lounge if you are flying out of Accra on SA and are either *G or in Biz class.

WE fly ACC-JNB tomorrow in Biz on SAA.

AKWAABA LOUNGE I see is now open - does SAA use that now, or lounge above?

Any recent reports on whatever lounge SAA does use?

Star Alliance lounges in Accra

I am curious about this as well: can you access the contract lounges in Accra if you're *A Gold flying Economy?

The situation has changed somewhat since earlier posts; United no longer flies to Accra, so the *A carriers are Brussels and SAA. I try to fly Brussels since it codeshares with United (and you can get MP PQMs and PQDs) while the SAA flight codeshares with JetBlue, even though the SAA direct from IAD is more convenient for many.

Can *A Gold status get you into the lounge that contracts with Brussels and SAA if you're flying Economy? Does anyone have recent experience?

Also TK and ET

Not sure about the SN/SA flights, but I received a lounge invite (for the newly refurb'ed Akwaaba lounge) as a *G flying TK economy a few months ago, at checkin. Couldn't actually use it as half the terminal was blacked out with a power problem, including the lounge...

Not sure about which lounge you get on SA, but *G & business class on SN gets you into the Akwaaba lounge, the same on ET gets you into the Adinkra lounge and the same on TK gets you into the new Sanbra lounge.
