Mixed FF Programs for Same Booking

I have one leg on Turkish (Star Alliance) and 2 subsequent legs on KLM (Skyteam) on the same reservation. Will I be able to get Star Alliance mileage for all 3 or just the 1st? My employer is making the reservation, so I'm not sure if it is booked through Turkish.....assuming it is because my trip is starting in Turkey.

You will only get miles in *A for the TK leg. The legs on KLM have be credited to Flying Blue or some other SkyTeam FFP.

Quite often you won't be able to enter different FF numbers when managing your trip online. (most of them accept only one FF number for the whole trip)
You can however solve this by giving your FF number to the gate agent who will be able to add a FF number to just one (or some) segments of your complete itinerary.

Thanks all.

One follow up question (apologies if I'm beating a dead horse); Does it make a difference if it is a code share. i.e., if the KLM legs have "TK***" on the reservation?

IF you have a TK code share flight on KL metal, I guess you could earn *A miles for it, but I'm fairly certain that is not the case, rather you have one itinerary with multiple companies and multiple alliances, so you'll have to split your earnings between different FFPs.

Don't wait for the gate agent but, rather, do it at check-in (I assume that you'll have to check-in twice, as I don't think that you can check-in once for the whole trip with different airlines that don't belong to the same alliance, unless in cases of code-sharing)). It is often the case in several airports that gate agents can't access your reservation!

You can earn miles if you use the TK FFP then.

call the two airlines, tell each to register the approriate FF # , and obtain the different reservation locator (PNR) for each airline at the same time.

I agree - as a general rule of thumb, *A tend to earn on the metal actually flown (i.e. so if not *A metal, then no *A points). Having said that, I have heard that there may be some unexpected exceptions to this rule...
