OnePass vs. Mileage Plus

Hi All,

Now that Continental and United have merged, are there any major difference between their FFP?

Welcome to FlyerTalk!!

They haven't really merged yet. There is a parent holding company that owns both airlines but they are still operating independently - including running their own FFPs - for the next year or so. MileagePlus and OnePass have many differences and they haven't changed much in the past year or so.

We were told that by the end of 2011, the sum of miles in both programs will be added and we should expect a new program starting January 2012.
I cannot speak for the benefits of mileage plus vs. continental since I have been with continental for so long but whatever you decide it will most likely be for only one calendar year.
In general, go with whichever airline you will be flying most.
