United or Continental FF program?
At the moment I do most of my flights with Delta and SkyTeam. I'm wondering what would be the best choice for a SA FF program. United or Continental? (or US Airways for that matter) I fly out of Alaska, and I take a lot of non-business trips to Germany.

I like dealing with CO better then UA, but you can really fly whoever and earn with whoever.. Germany from Alaska is fairly high yeild for miles, do you have an estimate for how many miles you'd earn in a typical year?
You ought to compare how many miles you earn to the tier in each program and see which you like better. I like CO, but surely some folks will swear by UA.

from a miles stand point, i vastly prefer CO. CO has lower mileage redemption rates to most of the world, especially in first class. Plus they do not participate in Starnet filtering which is what UA does. From personal experience UA blocks seats/routes on Thai, especially LAX-BKK. Also CO allows a stopover and an open jaw on their awards. For UA, you have to pick one or the other.
