RR Credits on Partner Hotel for Family members?
is there a fine print on southwest that forbids southwest rapid rewards credits to be credited to a family member's RR account instead of the RR account of the person for a qualifying stay? i'm staying at la quinta inn and i have a returns account and should qualify for RR credit.
i know i read something for amex rewards that the 1500 pts = 1 RR can only be credited to the cardholder's RR account.
just wondering if I could help a family member who doesn't fly as often get some credits before the two year expiration.
thanks for any input!

It's normally YMMV (your mileage may vary). Some programs don't seem to check too closely, others will not let the credits through even if the last name is the same. If you have already gotton RR credits into your RR acct, sometime attempting to send to another RR acct out of the same hotel FF acct will result in a failure.
Interestingly (and contrary to what you posted), Amex MR is actually one of the only programs that you CAN manipulate it so that anybody can transfer into your RR acct without any problems. It just requires that the person sending the Amex MR pts into your acct "links" you to their Amex MR acct temporarily. ^

thanks for the info!
the thing is with the partner hotel i am staying with, it asks that i provide my RR number upon check-in so it can be converted to equivalent RR credits as a qualifying stay. do they usually tell you right away that there is a problem and it cannot be done or do i just get denied credits after weeks of processing?
i don't want to put in the RR number of a family member, get denied, and then cannot have the credits posted into my own RR account either...
