I did an early bird check-in for my flight between PHX-ONT, and I was given position A-63. The flight I'm on that started in RDU-ATL-SAT-PHX-ONT-SMF should be fun.

The real answer is below, but I've been "A-66" once- I was 6th in line for the "A-List/A-List Preferred who didn't get an 'A' boarding position" boarding order

Infrequent WN flyer here. What is the likelihood of a LAX-MCI flight offering this upgrade? What would be the cost?

I would say fairly good at T-24. We have been able to buy them on most flights for the past two years. Cost - $40-$50 is my guess. either way, we never actually pay as we use the free ones.

Download the app, it should be sitting there after you purchase the ticket

It should be there after the OP purchases a ticket.
Just used Concur to purchase my PHX-LAS flights for April, once purchase was completed, opened App and Early Bird AND Business Select options were there

OP isn’t asking about EBCI or paying a big $$ upgrade to BS

Calm down folks. Some do confuse buying BizSelect tickets vs the A1-A15 upgrade.

BizSelect can be purchased when you guy your ticket, or any other time prior to T-24 if available. You pay the FULL price for that "upgrade"
Buying A1-a15 boarding position is only available at T-24. Usually in the $30-$60 price range.

either option gets you A1-a15 boarding.
